The Natural Method: Swimming Techniques
Like the self-defense techniques chapter, swimming constitutes a complete form of training, covering movement fundamentals in the various positions and actions of the limbs and trunk, and quite importantly breathing as well, and it fulfills a functional aspect: the simple act of being able to swim for protection (self, or rescue of others, or crossing bodies of water) without discounting the development of the entire musculature.
Additionally, this book contains swimming styles that may have “disappeared” from what we consider the standard styles today, yet their variety provides options for the less skilled swimmer in terms of being able to move in a body of water safely and “naturally”.
As described in the book itself, swimming sessions are usually standalone sessions, not weave into a model session “on land”.
